Anzac Day - Memoir '44

On Anzac Day I managed to get in four plays of Memoir '44. First we played one game of the Pegasus Bridge scenario to help familiarise ourselves with the game.

Then we stepped into three games of a fan made scenario of the Gallipoli Landings 1915 at Anzac Cove. You can find this scenario on the Days Of Wonder website.

I played as the Turks and Mum played as the Anzacs. Turks won twice and Anzacs played an aggressive third match coupled with some unlucky dice rolls on my part to take the third match quite convincingly.

Here's a photo at the end of the second match:

Memoir '44 is a great game which I would recommend to people looking for a light tactical game for two players. It has a nice dose of luck (both in the dice rolling and the cards you draw) which forces you to strategise on the fly and with the options available to you at the time. The game comes with a huge bunch of scenarios from real World War 2 battles, multiple expansions and good online support and community. It is published by Days Of Wonder, who do a stellar job on all their board game publishing.
